New Space, Friendly Encounters
When space opens up time—new energy fills the void.
Tomcat prowling out back,
Rolling in the leafy soil rug.
Meowing for a belly scratch.
Playful pats, pitter-patter paws.
Strong muscles—gentle claws.
Black and white tuxedo cat.
Came to play with me as I sat.
My coffee mug left untended.
As time upends.
Paused in the moment.
A relational solace.
Then, through the fence—
And gone like mist.
